Mike Funt's Circus in the Classroom program combines performing arts, physical education, character building, and play to give students a unique learning experience where healthy risk-taking is encouraged, failure is demystified, and creativity and teamwork are at the forefront.
Circus in the Classroom has borrowed from the scientific research of Reg Bolton, Dr. Stuart Brown, Ringling Brothers’ Circus Fit program, Social Circus, and Holistic Circus Therapy to provide students with a valuable experience that goes beyond just the learning of the skills themselves. We focus on the development of skills like Individuality, Safe Risk Taking, Teamwork, Aspiration, Imagination and Play through Circus skills such as acrobatics, juggling, stilts, walking globe, slackline, rola bola, clown, hoops, music, and more. The Circus in the Classroom Program is recognized by the American Circus Educators Association and the American Youth Circus Organization.
